The sea is a big place with most of our little planet earth covered in water and some of the depths of the ocean has never been explored, so it’s not a surprise that there could be unknown creatures deep under the sea.
This photo is (rumored to be true, but do not count on it), it’s a very weird photo of some sort of fish anyhow.

That’s P.T. Barnum’s “Fiji Mermaid”, he put it on display at his freak show, it was one of his major attractions. He glued the body of a fish and the top half of a squirrel monkey together. It fooled a lot of people in the early 1900s.

It’s real. On December 23, 2005, working on a grant through Harvard University, our research crew took an ROV submersible deep into the Mariana Trench in the Pacific Ocean in search of new life. Netting vast scoops of wiggling life into our collection nets, we transported the haul in sea-water. Moving from our staging area in Hawaii back to Harvard, we processed our findings for analysis and categorization. We discovered many new bacteria, thermal vent protozoa, and deep-ocean sea-worms. Then we got the surprise of our lives. Bob M., a 3rd year grad-student and Doctoral candidate, walked over with this SHOCKING creature in his hands. He found the dusty abomination in a storage collections area and tried to fool us, saying it came from sea-water crate 6B.
Pretty well scared some of us half to death. Good job, Bob!! And congrats on passing your doctoral thesis!
Jim.

hello everybody,
i know that this “Creature” looks so real, but i am sorry to disappoint you, it isn’t. this is a “work of art” belongs to an artist named Juan Cabana. here is a link to a website where you can see the rest of his work. impressive yet horrible. ^_^

ALLAH knows His creatures best than us(humans), I suppose it,s a evil mermaid,,,grandma stories coming true.haa
Comment by asad — April 18, 2008 @ 3:43 pm
This artist Juan Cabana is mysterious. I now understand ( or think I do..) what he is trying to express..the humanization of fish and the stories people create to reflect their ancient beliefs of the unknown. The stories become part of the art.
