Sky News has reported life on Mars, well to start of with these pictures date back to 1999 and they have just reported it. Sorry people these pictures were taken ages ago of a smiley face on the big red planet.
Anyway, life on mars it is not because in fact it is like a big massive face with a smile. These amazing images were captured by a satellite thousands of kilometres away, remember the images of the man like figure on Mars (See Here), well these pictures look like something has made a nice happy smiling face which was not a man come on.
Analysis of soil showed it contained 90% silica which was probably formed when water is present, these images were taken from Mars Global Surveyor with the MOC’s red and blue wide angle cameras. The happy face Crater was seen after the first day of the Mapping Phase of the Mars Global Surveyor mission and during the second week of March 1999.
The crate is officially known as Galle Crater and is about 215 kilometers (134 miles) across.
