The weirder the laws, the older they date back

Some laws are very weird and the weirder they are the older and longer they date back.
I do not know what the people that made this law were thinking but in the UK the town of Bournemouth just had its council apologize for a law dating back to 1766 which stated that “lunatics, idiots, deaf and dumb” people cannot run in local elections.

I can understand why this apology has had to happen, but with the way this country (as I live in the UK) is run we do have a lot of idiots in our local councils and government.

They just run the other parties down and never have anything good to say about each other (which sets a bad example to our children or is this just politics). Whatever it is, they are all as bad as each other.

Leaders of the council called the laws “not acceptable”, just shows how the world changes over the years with what the press think the most important (not the people) or the leaders of each country and councils may listen to us a bit more (not deaf did they say).
